Murdo Maciver

Currently living in Aberdeen, Murdo has recently retired as Chief Operating Officer and Group Director of Peterson Offshore Group, where he had responsibility for the operations and delivery of the strategic direction of the companies within the group. Murdo was also a management team member and main board director of the parent organisation, the Peterson and Control Union Group. During this time, he developed and acquired various businesses in locations such as the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Australia, Europe, and the UK.

Murdo became a partner in SBS Logistics Ltd in 2002 through participation in a management buyout. His responsibilities included the development of the commercial infrastructure of the business during a period of significant growth, as well as various operational leadership roles. During part of this time, Murdo also led the establishment of Decom North Sea, a supply chain forum for the decommissioning industry with support from local and government agencies and acted as Chairman and Director of the business for over six years.

This followed a career in the offshore construction industry. During that time, he held various roles, including participating in a management buyout of the company between 1989 and 2000 and was the Director responsible for Project support and Supply Chain Management at Lewis Offshore at Arnish. Murdo then led Shetland Decommissioning Company, an organisation which promoted Shetland as a viable location for the decommissioning of offshore structures.

In addition, Murdo held various supply chain and commercial roles in overseas locations for multiple companies in the Netherlands, Germany and Venezuela.
