VESSEL REPORTING

The UK Consolidated European Reporting System requires vessels to report their arrival time, last port and persons on board to the Harbour Office 24 hours prior to arrival. If the duration of the voyage is less than 24 hours then the information should be provided no later than the time of departure from last port. This doesn’t apply to vessels under 300 gross tonnes, Naval Vessels, vessels engaged in Government service, small Fishing vessels or recreational craft having a length of less than 45 meters.

All vessels should contact Stornoway Port on VHF Channel 12 or by telephone when approaching Arnish Point, advising of their movements and intentions, at which point a berth will be allocated. This applies to all fishing vessels as well as visiting pleasure craft. Commercial vessels should notify Stornoway Port Authority of their arrival details, using the Notification form.
